PRODUCT WARRANTY
Last updated December 2025
American Insulated Panel (AIP) is committed to delivering high-quality insulated metal panel products. The following is a summary of AIP’s Product Warranty. For complete terms, conditions, and legal details, please refer to the full warranty document.
WARRANTY COVERAGE
American Insulated Panel (“AIP”) warrants to the original purchaser that its insulated metal panel products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of shipment.
DELAMINATION WARRANTY
AIP additionally warrants its insulated metal panels against delamination for a period of five (5) years from the date of shipment, provided the panels are used, cleaned, and maintained in accordance with AIP’s written guidelines.
EXCLUSIONS & IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
This warranty does not cover:
- Floor panels exposed to wet mopping or rolling/wheeled traffic (such as carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts) unless specifically engineered by AIP for those applications
- Improper installation, including misalignment, incorrect anchoring, improper sealants, or restricted thermal movement
- Installation by unqualified individuals or entities
- Exposure to harsh or incompatible chemicals, corrosive agents, or unapproved cleaning practices
- Washdowns, high-pressure washing, or cleaning methods that may compromise panel integrity
- Coastal or salt-spray environments, chemical fumes, ammonia, chlorine, or peroxide-based sanitizers
- Damage caused by high humidity or condensation resulting from inadequate HVAC design
- Surface fading, chalking, normal weathering, or scratches and dents occurring after delivery
- Any field modifications not approved by AIP, including drilling, welding, or the use of incompatible materials
Improper storage or handling, including exposure to moisture, standing water, or outdoor conditions before installation, will void the warranty.
OIL CANNING & SURFACE CHARACTERISTICS
A degree of waviness, commonly referred to as oil canning, is inherent in sheet metal products and does not affect structural or thermal performance. As such, oil canning is not considered a defect.
Minor surface blisters caused by thermal expansion from sunlight exposure may occur and are considered a known, correctable condition. Panels are deemed acceptable if they are free from visible defects under normal lighting conditions at the intended viewing distance or eight (8) feet, whichever is greater.
LIMIT OF REMEDIES
AIP’s sole obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective panels, at AIP’s discretion.
This warranty does not cover:
Labor costs
Installation or removal costs
Project delays or downtime
Incidental or consequential damages
WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURE
To submit a warranty claim:
1. Written notice must be provided to AIP within the applicable warranty period after the issue is discovered
2. AIP must be allowed to inspect the panels before any repair, removal, or alteration
3. Panels may not be disturbed, modified, or replaced before inspection
